Jessica Lagarde (RYT, LMT) has been teaching children's yoga in the DC metro area since 2005. Nearly two decades as a licensed massage practitioner shapes how she understands bodies in motion — how touch communicates, how movement builds strength and awareness, and what it actually feels like to learn something physical rather than just watch it demonstrated.

Jennifer Mueller (MPM, E-RYT 200, RCYT, CEIM, IBCLC) has been teaching yoga to children and families since 2008. Her background spans infant massage instruction and lactation consulting alongside children's yoga — not as separate specialties but as an integrated approach to supporting families with young children. She has taught baby yoga, toddler yoga, afterschool programs, and school day-off camps since 2008.
This module stands on its own, and you receive a certificate of completion when you finish. Everything you complete also counts toward the Children's & Teen Yoga Teacher Certification. Committing to the full certification up front costs significantly less than buying each part separately, but you add Phase 2 whenever you're ready.

Access to at least one caregiver-infant pair for your practice hours — a family member, a friend with a baby, or a parent-infant group you already work with is fine. You'll also need a 20-inch soft-bodied doll with bendable knees and hips (we recommend the 20" JC Toys La Baby) to practice and demonstrate with.
The coursework takes about 8–10 hours. With observation and practice hours, most people finish in four to eight weeks.
Everything you complete here counts toward the certification, and you add the remaining modules and Phase 2 whenever you're ready. Enrolling in the full certification up front costs significantly less than buying each part separately.
Yes — two payments of $248, which is the same total as paying in full.
